"A few short months ago, we switched speech clinics and started with Speech Therapy Consulting, Inc. As a first-time mom, I'm always skeptical about someone new coming into my child’s life. My son was paired with Ms. Carissa Stenzel as his speech therapist.  I really don't want to share her with the world, but I want everyone to know that she is an extraordinary human being.  She has made our experience so much better and less stressful. She has given us speech specific tasks to work on with our son. He was delayed in speech and wasn't speaking clearly when we first started at Speech Therapy Consulting, Inc.   Before speech therapy with Carissa, he was always shy and had difficulties talking to people. Everyone would make it known that they couldn't understand him. I have been his advocate every step of the way. Now that he's been meeting with Carissa weekly, he's been speaking more. He is even singing, and I've noticed he seems less afraid to communicate with others. 
Carissa has also helped us with other concerns. She provided us with the necessary feedback we needed to overcome issues that have come up. She helped us with an idea for a feelings poster to communicate feelings and a reward board to promote specific positive behaviors. I couldn't ask for a better person to be in our lives. She is helping our child improve his speech every week. She truly has all of our best interests in mind. She's provided a personal touch to our experience. My son Callan has been a client at Speech Therapy Consulting, Inc. for one year. Callan’s speech has improved greatly under Melony’s care.  He has made wonderful progress and seems to enjoy attending his weekly speech session. Callan has made quicker progress with Melony than any other speech therapist we have had in the past 3 years. Melony’s flexibility with Callan (ending a few minutes early if needed, taking wiggle breaks, etc.) prevents him from getting too frustrated and shutting down. We are so happy with Callan’s progress and look forward to working with him to achieve his new speech goals.
